WATCH: Immigrant rights protesters block Border Patrol bus from leaving McAllen detention camp
Protesters are blocking a Border Patrol detention bus at the Central Processing Station in McAllen, Texas.
The center, known as Ursula, is the largest such center in the country and is known as the “epicenter” of the President Donald Trump’s child separation policies.
“It’s a bit of a chaotic scene as protesters have surrounded this bus full of migrants,” noted NBC News correspondent Gabe Gutierrez. “You’re seeing protesters here as well as members of the media they have surrounded this bus right now.”
“Some CBP officers are pulling them off the bus,” he continued. “The bus, as you can see, is stationary right now and about to pull away.”
“This happened just in the last few minutes, it’s been quite chaotic,” he added.
“As you can see, there is growing outrage here in McAllen and also several other cities across the country this weekend as the protests are erupting,” Gutierrez concluded.
