Yell at centrists as well; they have helped to create this hell!

Fineman and others like him (and many of these have way too much opportunity to be heard-Joy Reid, Joan Walsh, Chris Matthews, Palosi, Schumer, the Clintons–Chelsey now has a platform–Cher, Bono– who want us to work within the system and use the mechanisms of the system that are supposed to allow for government that is representative government, do not want to confront the fact that the system has become the problem, that it has been co-opted so that it is no longer representative of all or even the most but of a handful of people who benefit greatly from what the system is and what the system is and what it does.

Fineman is a centrist. Hillary Clinton was a centrist. The democratic party is a centrist party.  The center has been pulled so far away from what is progressive that it would have been considered right-wing in the past, the not too distant past if we are counting by decades.

The centrists have been allowed for a long time to stand in place of a real opposition movement. They have pushed an agenda based on the idea that when business is good, all will prosper.  They know this because they are prosperous.

They consistently claim that all can be fixed if only.  If only is not ever clearly defined and this is fine for them because, really, the status quo serves them well.

The democratic convention was rife with pronouncements by the successful—politicians, stars of stage screen and even rock and roll who asked their followers to chant “American is already great.”  Could that have pissed off really bad the great numbers of people for whom America, America the system, was far less than great, the conditions of their lives real proof of the validity of their displeasure?

So, to the centrists I say, you’re no good, you’re no good, you’re no good.  WORKING WITHIN THE SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE THE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING AS IT SHOULD IN A DEMOCRACY.  IT HAS NOT BEEN WORKING FOR A LONG TIME BECAUSE IT WORKS FOR THE FEW AND NOT ALL AND NOT EVEN THE MANY.

The schools, the supposed great equalizing institution, the place where equal opportunity is supposed to be realized, the branches of government where checks and balances are supposed to check the unfair and balance law so that is fair to all, the economic system that rewards greed and only sometimes merit—none of these elements of good society are working for the good of all or the many.

SO DO NOT THINK THAT DOING THINGS BY THE BOOK, WITH IN THE FRAMEWORK OF A REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT ARE GOING TO BRING ABOUT REAL FAIRNESS, ANYTHING RESEMBLING EQUITY.

THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN AND IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.  THAT WOULD  BE WORKING FOR THE SYSTEM, THE SYSTEM THAT WOULD REFLECT TRULY DEMOCRATIC, TRULY HUMANE VALUES.
